Castor Roboticus



Created for MakerFaire, I wanted the ultimate Canadian exhibit. So riding a beaver? Perfect.

Hardware is a pair of surplus wheelchair motors connected to a Sabertooth 2×32 motor driver. The controller is run by a teensy microcontroler that filters the input and ramps the output to make the thing less dangerous. Its capable of about 6.5kms and will do that in a 13″ circle, or about 80 rpm, with a rider. Battery is a Lithium Iron Phosphate, 24v 20 ah, runs for several hours.
